Parwana Afghan Restaurant

Gourmet124B Henley Beach Road, Torrensville

This place may not look all that fancy but the food definitely makes up for it - the aromas, the tastes, even the presentation are perfect. It has been packed every time I have dined there, and every time the service has been prompt and friendly. Definitely one of the gems of Adelaide Claudia A

Absolutely amazing! It was my first time eating Afghan food and it didn't fail to impress. The food is flavoursome packed full of spices and herbs and is very fragrant. And it's very affordable too - great value! Will definitely be backExcuse Me Waiter

As we entered, the owner greeted me by name (we’d made a booking) and shook my hand. To me, it’s these small, simple gestures really make a difference. The eggplant dish (banjaan borani) was the highlight for me and the potato qorma was very filling too (NB. very vegetarian friendly place). Adelaide needs more restaurants like Parwana! It was a great experience and I will definitely be back.John Herriot

Can't say enough good things about this little place. First time trying Afghan food, won't be the last. You can consider this your motto too after coming here! Entree: Pekowrah - Amazing fritters similar to Indian pakoras but with altogether different spices and flavours...served with their signature chutney. 5 Stars Mains: Narenj Palaw: An amazing long grain rice accompaniment with candied orange peel, almonds and pistacchios. 5 stars Gosfandeh Degee: A beautiful marinated lamb dish served with salad, their version of naan bread, and again their signature chutney. 4.5 Stars (a couple of the lamb pieces (maybe 10%) were a bit dry but still tender and flavoursome) Dessert: As if we weren't already super-impressed with our entree and mains, our chosen dessert - Seb Morabah - was just to die for. I cannot recommend this enough just purely for you to experience such a wonderful combination of new flavours. It's candied apple preserve and Cardamom and Pistacchio Ice-cream....We chose to share one dessert....I tell you..that was a mistake...By the end I wanted my own, as did my better half. 5 stars. Service: Fantastic. 5 stars Decor: Simple yet colourful, Seemingly cultural, Homely (Family photos), Welcoming. 5 stars. Ryan Harrowfield

food is always tasty. yiros and chips are a real winner. yiros is a pound or so, healthy amounts of meat which is seasoned well. chips are crunchy, hot and have a slight buttery taste. this is the best takeaway store i've been to, other places have a tiny yiros with poor meat and chips. I ALWAYS GET LUNCH FROM HERE, resonably priced and TASTY!!!Huy Banh

TWO PIECES OF BUTTER FISH ARE FRIED WELL AND CHIPS ARE PLENTY TO FILL YOUR APPETITE. THEY HAVE ONLY 3 TABLES TO DINE IN... ONE INSIDE AND TWO OUTSIDE. SO IF YOU ARE GOING WITH A BIG GROUP AND THINKING OF DINING IN, YOU MIGHT GIVE THEM A CALL BEFORE GOING.A Google User

Authentic Indian food! this has to be one of the best in Torrensville and within the inner western suburbs. One of my personal favourites is the Butter Chicken plus a side of the Chilli Cheese Naan bread. Friendly staff and plenty of off street parking/parking at the rear of the venue.Michael Walkden

As a take away, the minimum is $40 + $ 5 delivery. You get a small serve of whatever dish and the large rice is a small serve compared to what you might get from Chinese take out. The food was okay, however for $55 it was not value for money. The Rogan Josh had 9 pieces of lamb, the Butter chicken 6. A medium tub of rice is called the large, a Garlic naan is $2, they forgot the Pappadams and took another 20 minutes to come back with that, meanwhile we had finished the dinner by then, and gave us a tiny little tub of mango dessert as the apology. Indian food is over priced generally when you eat in, don't bother with delivery unless you have money to burn! Oh and I am only saying good for decor, as you cannot post a review until all scores are logged, it was delivery, never saw the decor!JasVala
