Great coffee and beautiful breakfast. Came on the day before x-mas and even though they were quite busy, service was quick, friendly and quality was not compromised. Tried a spicy Turkish susage breakfast. Came with nice toast evenly buttered, tasty fried eggs and grilled tomatoes. Very happy. Will definitely come back !Shuku Torabi

Went for breakfast today and had a great time. There was a tai chi group competing with a council brass band for the town square which made for great entertainment (the band won). I had the espresso of the day with a veggie toastie, both were great. The only downside to the experience was that this café is too popular! It was packed, but the wait staff were still very friendly and relaxed and we didn't have to wait for our order too long all things considered.James Conigrave

Gourmet1/25 Railway Parade, Eastwood

This is probably one of the best sushi restaurants around the Eastwood area. We had the sashimi plate (small) and it was super fresh. I couldn't fault the sashimi (and I'm a big critic when it comes to raw seafood!). One of their most famous dishes is the soft shell crab sushi, which you have to try! It was amazing and fresh. The service is great and the wait staff are very friendly. Make sure you book ahead, this place is quite small and fills up very fast!Amanda Smith

Quiet acheiver. The best sushi in Eastwood means that it's probably the best sushi in Sydney. Hukuya offers the freshest, best prepared sushi in a small, friendly atmosphere that even feels Japanese. Most of the time you'll receive a friendly greeting from the chefs upon entering and either sit on a table or right up at the bar in front of the chefs. The food here is out of this world fresh. Everything feels entirely Japanese without any Western influence. Come here for properly prepared sushi, real Japanese dishes with real wasabi (not that packeted, green horseradish rubbish). The soft shell crab is the standout amongst a range where you can't go wrong. Presentation and decor is nothing special, but does nothing to detract from the experience. This is a place where you go for a quiet meal, not for loud, rowdy fun. Prices are respectable but can go up quickly if you eat a lot like me. If you're wanting sushi and live even 20mins away, it's worth the trip. Cameron Gage

Best sushi in Eastwood. Everything is so fresh and well prepared. Have been turned around so many times coz they are fully booked out most days. But over all 10/10 for quality, taste and service. Oh and its BYO too. Only negativity is they take cash only, but wont be an issue if you go prepared.Don Adam Ketagoda

I've been to this place many times and never get sick of the very fresh sashimi and generous portions they serve. And a good selection of hit food as well. It is simply the best sushi sashimi bar around the vicinity of Eastwood / the Hills area. Love it.Truc Vo

Ichiraku delivers some of the best Japanese food in Eastwood for very reasonable prices. The Teriyaki Chicken Don, and other Don dishes cost around $10, all which are generally done well. Their range of ramen dishes are generally known to satisfy as well. Their sushi menu also offers a bit of variety and creativity. If you can't find anything else around the area, then I would definitely consider this a reliable option.Sarah Perth

I absolutely adore Japanese food and have made it my mission to go through trying all the Japanese restaurants in Eastwood. Ichikaru was next on my list, and my friends and I decided to go there on a quiet Saturday lunch time. We ordered a few lunch boxes (bentos) and some sushi and entrees to share. The bentos were decent in quality, and were okay for the price. I really liked the texture of the ox tongue, and they were generous in their portions. The sushi, on the other hand, was MASSIVE. Wayyy too much rice for the filling, and hard to fit into one's mouth. Their mini rolls were actually bigger than full sized rolls at some places, and you were just left with a lot of rice at the end. The service was also slightly abrupt. All throughout our lunch the staff had not been particularly friendly, but we had written that off to the staff not speaking a large amount of English. We had also gone in at about noon, and only finished eating at about 2:30pm. We were happily chatting, and realised that the restaurant might be closing soon. Before we knew it, the bill was unceremoniously dumped on our table, and the staff member just walked away. We paid and left, but would have appreciated slightly more communication. In all, the food was average for an average price, but the under par service made us feel like we will not be going back again. Tammi Kwok
