Attended The Langham for the Chocolate Bar Afternoon Tea for a girlfriends wedding. While the food was extraordinary (as to be expected) the service was a little left to be desired. The table we had was way too small, and we often had to shuffle tea cups and plates around just to fit everything on. We had asked for another round of sandwiches, which we were told was on its way... but never arrived. The same thing happened when we requested water, and found we had to do so numerous times before we actually got it. The staff on a whole were extremely friendly, but just were inconsistent with our requests - possibly due to the number of staff looking after each table... so requests may have just been lost.. The last thing worth mentioning, was the lack of 'light' food to compliment all the heavy chocolate and savoury foods... Even after the first round everyone started to feel heavy and sluggish - some fruit to nibble on in between would have been appreciated. So just be prepared that while the food truly is wonderful, you may not eat anything near your $70 due to it all being quite heavy food. Kim Flowers

Hotel was beautiful, room was excellent, and the view was even better. Though it has taken me over a month, and many attempts just to get my deposit back. Get your shit together, Langham.Luke Brookes

As a regular guest in five-star hotels, I was pretty disappointed with my recent experience at the Langham, Melbourne. This clearly was not a 5-star experience. Having paid top-dollar, over the New Year Holiday, I would have expected a lot more. Even the basics were not handled very well. Here is a list of some of my peeves: - room not serviced upon our return after 2:00 in the afternoon. - insufficient shampoos and shower gels in the room. (Only dealt with when I pointed it out.) - a number of the machines in the fitness centre were out-of-order. - in spite of there being 5 staff working in the bar one quiet afternoon, it was still necessary for us to ask them could we order drinks, rather than their asking us. - Room service delivering dinner for two and arriving with only one place setting, water, etc. - no attempt, or even offer, to rectify the matter. Clearly this is a poorly managed property. I will not be returning and will certainly think long and hard before staying in any Langham property in the future.Richard Hazel

This place is gorgeous and to think it is free to the public is just insane. Walked by here and there was a ton of people just hanging around this area and having a good time. Did not really walked around but would had if I knew that the architecture is so amazing when I saw the show "Running Man" which was also film in this location. However, perfect timing since there was a FREE Rome Exhibition going on and had a chance to look at a look of art work that is on architecture, which was a treat. Nice place to just come to and sit around and relax. Wilson Kwong

Always on my list when I am in Melbourne and have some time to spare. ACMI usually has something interesting on. Highlights for me include the history of video gaming, where you could play games from different eras and it might sound corny, but the Disney animation exhibition was great. Oh, and Tim Burton was a stand out! Checkout the permanent exhibition for a snapshot of Australian film and TV. There are some great interactive things to do, but I wouldn't read all the panels, you will be there forever.Benjamin Mangold

Went to go see the Dreamworks and (free) Screen Worlds exhibits. As far as museums go they put a lot of effort into making sure each exhibit was well presented and have projectors everywhere screening lots of interactive things you can experience.David Goodo
