The Seaview Hotel Shorncliffe

Gourmet65 Pier Avenue, Shorncliffe

Good menu with large meals that aren't expensive. Great kids room.Daniel Fisher

Order from the specials board only, menu meals are overpriced. However, meals are larger then average and the quality is excellent. Kids meals include a drink and bowl of icecream. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Kids room is sparse but kids like going there anyhow. Sit out the back in Summer and inside in Winter. For us it's more a special occasions place rather then a regular outing purely due to the pricing.Shane Russell

Black Friday June 13th was the date when 20+ Ladies booked a lunch at the Seaview. Despite the booking the meal was mediocre at best. The person who plated the meals MUST have seen how much fat was on each plate and the crackling would keep dentists busy well into future. Plates were returned to kitchen with much inedible. No response to comments to staff The manager made no effort to apologise or comment when he was told of the poor food. Deserts were good but stay away from the pork roast. We certainly will. Shelley Inn

Gourmet62 Allpass Parade, Shorncliffe

Great fish and chips (fish crumbed, battered or grilled), best potato scallops I've ever come across and delicious burgers (whoever complained about a $21 burger was obviously mixing Shelley Inn up with some other shop). Excellent coffee. Service was very efficient, polite and cheerful. Location couldn't be better. Ticks all the boxes - highly recommended. I'll be back!Gareth Morse

Cafe on the Park

Gourmet6 Park Parade, Shorncliffe

Main drawcard here is the location at Shorncliffe overlooking the ocean. It's a favorite spot for fish and chips/burgers before a play on the beach and a run around Moora Playground (highly recommended). The cafe is child friendly with a kid's play room and plenty of toys to keep them busy. It's great to see local artists displaying their paintings on the walls too.Lucy H

Frozen fish out of a packet very little fish to be found amongst the crumbs. No sign of management to complain to. The three piece band did little for the atmosphere. In a word dismal.Greg Short

I enjoy a wonderful scenic cycle from Redcliffe every now and then and I have ended up at this Cafe 3 times. I must have a short term memory or just tend to not learn my lesson the first time but once I take a sip of their smoothie it all comes back to me how I said the last time that it was the worst smoothie I have ever had & not appealing visually or to the palate. Prices are very high for the products and the portion sizes on offer. I sense a great amount of hard work and effort going in to this Cafe due to the ambiance and cleanliness of the Cafe although tasteless and pricey items will keep me away. MACS S

Very expensive compared to other Sandgate restaurants, even some waterfront ones. The fish was good, but the potatoes slightly below average. The salad was strange - almost entirely of pickled vegetables. The tables are tiny and very close together - if I wanted the staff to rub against me, I would seek a different sort of establishment.Sander H
